Safety Australia Group is partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced HSEQ Manager.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a safety professional who is passionate about driving a high-performance safety culture while supporting the delivery of complex construction projects. The role will lead 5 HSEQ work colleagues.
In this role, you will lead the strategic and operational management of health, safety, environmental and quality systems across the organisation. Working closely with executive leadership, project teams and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance, managing risk, and continuously improving HSEQ performance across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the organisation’s HSEQ strategy across projects and business operations.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and support to the HSEQ team and project-based safety personnel.
- Act as the organisation’s HSEQ subject matter expert, providing guidance to senior leaders and project teams.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve HSEQ management systems, procedures and initiatives.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through training, awareness programs and workforce engagement.
- Lead serious incident investigations and ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Oversee safety audits, inspections and compliance with legislative, company and client requirements.
- Support project teams to integrate HSEQ requirements throughout planning, delivery and project close-out.
- Monitor HSEQ performance metrics and provide strategic insights to leadership.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong leadership capability and a proven track record in HSEQ management within construction or heavy industry.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in a senior HSEQ leadership role
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality regulations and standards
- Proven experience managing incident investigations, risk assessments and compliance systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to influence teams and build a strong safety culture across diverse workforces
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills in fast-paced project environments
Qualifications
- Diploma of Work, Health and Safety, or;
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Incident Investigation Qualified
- National Police Check
- C-Class Drivers Licence
