This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive HR/WHS professional with practical Workplace Health & Safety experience who is looking to develop their career across both disciplines within a fast-paced operational environment.

Working closely with the Head of HR, you’ll become the first point of contact for day-to-day HR and WHS coordination, supporting managers and employees across the Australian business while helping maintain a safe, compliant and engaged workplace.

About the Role

This position offers a genuine split between Human Resources (50%) and Workplace Health & Safety (50%), providing exposure across the full employee lifecycle while supporting workplace safety and compliance initiatives.

You’ll coordinate recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and WHS programs while building strong relationships across a diverse operational workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment administration
  • Manage onboarding and employee inductions
  • Prepare employment contracts and maintain employee records
  • Support payroll with employee enquiries and leave administration
  • Maintain HR systems and personnel files
  • Assist with HR policy administration and updates
  • Provide first-line HR support, escalating complex matters where appropriate
  • Coordinate probation reviews, performance documentation and offboarding activities
  • Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Coordinate WHS inductions for new employees
  • Maintain WHS registers, compliance documentation and records
  • Coordinate WHS Committee meetings, agendas and minutes
  • Track safety actions through to completion
  • Conduct workplace inspections and hazard identification
  • Assist with risk assessments and corrective actions
  • Coordinate incident reporting, investigations and workers compensation administration
  • Maintain vehicle safety, test and tag and compliance registers
  • Manage PPE inventory and First Aid kit maintenance
  • Coordinate licences, certifications and mandatory training renewals
  • Support ongoing compliance with Australian WHS legislation

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in an HR Coordinator or WHS/HR Coordinator position
  • Practical experience administering Workplace Health & Safety programs
  • Knowledge of Australian Employment Law and the Fair Work Act
  • Working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
  • Experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • The ability to build strong relationships across operational teams
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach

Desirable Experience

While not essential, the following will be highly regarded:

  • Certificate IV in Human Resources
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
  • Experience with injury management & managing workers compensation claims
  • Experience using HRIS and payroll systems
  • Experience within media, production, broadcast, engineering, technical services or project-based industries
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed workforces
