OHS Advisor – Construction

About the role

Safety Australia Group is seeking a hands-on OHS Advisor to join a major construction project in Geelong, Victoria. Working closely with site management, supervisors, subcontractors and workers, you’ll play a key role in maintaining safety standards, managing risks and promoting a positive safety culture.

• Location: Geelong VIC
• Contract: October 2026 – February 2027
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Work arrangement: Full-time, on-site
• Payrate: $70 per hour plus superannuation

Key responsibilities

• Conducting regular site inspections and identifying hazards.
• Delivering site inductions and safety briefings.
• Building strong relationships with workers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Responding to incidents and injuries and assisting with investigations.
• Monitoring compliance with SWMS, site procedures and WHS requirements.
• Providing practical safety advice to site personnel.
• Participating in monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings.
• Maintaining accurate inspection, incident and investigation records using an iPad and basic computer systems.
• Supporting initiatives that strengthen safety awareness and accountability.

About you

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a WHS/Health & Safety role.
• Construction industry experience, preferably on active project sites.
• A sound understanding of practical site safety requirements.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence conducting inspections and addressing unsafe practices.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using an iPad.
• A Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent is preferred.
• First Aid and Emergency Experience Management qualifications will be advantageous but are not essential.
