Hazard a Guess

Did you know that 15 young workers aged between 15 to 25 are injured each day while working.

WorkCover NSW have developed an interactive eLearning tool called “Hazard a Guess” to help young workers learn about workplace health & safety.

This training tool is a great way to engage young workers using a ‘game show’ style environment. The game show covers topics such as slips, trips & falls, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), manual handling and the workplace environment. As the ‘contestant’ selects a topic and dollar amount, they are presented with a scenario in which they must make decisions about what actions to take. Actions that result in dangerous or reckless behaviour result in the loss of money and the characters being injured or killed.

Hazard a Guess is a fantastic tool that is available online or by ordering a CD Rom Kit.

There are seven industry specific kits available for:

Accommodation and food services;
Construction;
Manufacturing;
Retail;
Rural;
Transport and storage; and
General

Each kit contains a CD ROM of Hazard a Guess, a printed version to be utilised if a computer is not available and related publications – to the specific industry.

The above information is a NSW WorkCover and NSW Government initiative and has been put on our website for information purposes for our clients and contractors.  More information is available from the Young Workers Website.
