Temporary Safety Contractors

What is a Temporary Safety Contractor?
A safety contractor is a temporary employee who is hired to either backfill a permanent employee or to staff a project which cannot be resourced by a regular permanent employee.  A safety contractor may work for one or several companies which may be for days or months at a time through an agency.  Safety contract staff or "safety temps" are popular because of their flexibility.

Contracting Process

  • The safety contractor is employed directly by Safety Recruitment Australia and then assigned to the client.
  • The safety contractor is paid through Safety Recruitment Australia's payroll system at a higher hourly rate as they do not accrue the standard benefits of a permanent employee eg annual leave entitlements etc.
  • The client is then invoiced on a weekly basis at an agreed all inclusive hourly rate (minimum 4 hours).
  • This is a simple option for clients that don't want the trouble of processing payroll and all the associated taxes.
